New Mellow Mushroom opens near Va. Tech

Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is now open in Blacksburg, Virginia, at 207 South Main Street. This Mellow's design features Southwestern Virginian historical elements combined with modern flair and is owned by Jeff and Leslie Knapp, who met at nearby Virginia Tech, and their three children, Drew, Sarah and Ashley. 

According to a news release, the design includes a rustic brick façade, glazed overhead doors, an outdoor patio and fire pit, custom welded, spherical chandeliers, exposed rafters and vintage murals. There are also weathered metal roof panels, reclaimed lumber, and raw steel piping.

And, as a nod to their alma mater, the owners added a chandelier made out of milk bottles, a custom table fabricated from tractor parts and the Corp of Cadets emblem.

The new location includes 60 draft beers, large TVs, live music, family night, pint night, bingo and game day specials.
