June 6, 2007
Newsday: The New York City Police Department is suing Orlando, Fla.-based NYPD Pizza for trademark infringement, claiming the chain "intentionally and purposefully" designed its logo to look like the department's shield and decorated its pizzerias to resemble police precincts.
The pizza chain says the use of the NYPD name and décor is a tribute to the department.
