LONDON—Domino's Pizza UK & IRL turned in a solid performance for the 52 weeks ended Jan. 1, 2006.
According to a news release, system sales increased 15.1 percent to £200.7 million (U.S. $349.4 million) compared to £174.3 million (U.S. $303.4 million) the year prior. Profit before tax increased 26.6 percent to £11.2 million (U.S. $19.5 million) compared to £8.8 million (U.S. $15.3) million in 2004.
Comparable-store sales rose 7.1 percent versus a 6.6 percent increase in 2004. Orders placed through its Web site rocketed 69.5 percent to £13.9 million (U.S. $24.2 million), representing 10.4 percent of all its delivery sales for the year.
The chain opened 50 stores opened in the period and closed none. It ended the year with 407 units.
