Papa John's cracks 4 new intl. pizza markets

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Papa John's announced entry into four new international markets in 2004 with the opening of its first restaurants in Trinidad, Peru, Bahrain and Oman.

According to a news release, this marks the company's presence in 18 international markets.

"I'm extremely proud of the International team's accomplishments this year," remarked Bill Van Epps, Papa John's chief operations officer. "We've nearly doubled the number of countries with a Papa John's presence and now have more than 600 international restaurants slated to open over the next seven years."

The company opened in Trinidad and Tobago in January, Peru in March, followed by Bahrain and Oman in September.
