Papa Johns debuts football-shaped pizza

Papa Johns has a new football-shaped pizza just in time for game day, according to a press release.

The Football Pizza is a size large pizza with a thin crust and topped with cheese and Papa Johns signature pepperoni. A recent survey found that pepperoni is a favorite topping amongst football fans. The pizza comes uncut.

"We are always thinking outside of the (pizza) box when it comes to innovation," Scott Rodriguez, Papa Johns senior vice president of menu strategy and product innovation, said in the press release. "Football Pizza is just another fun way for us to bring our premium ingredients to consumers, during a key pizza-eating occasion."

Papa Johns has more than 5,500 restaurants in 49 countries and territories.
