Papa John's enters China with store in Shanghai

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Papa John's announced the opening of its first China store on Oct. 13 in Shanghai.

According to a news release, the new store is "the first of numerous planned Papa John's restaurants in Shanghai and surrounding provinces of China."

The master franchise group is Shanghai Bang Yuehan Catering Service Co., Ltd., headed by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Li Ping.

"This is a very exciting time for our company," said Bill Van Epps, managing director of international for Papa John's. "We've taken the first step toward our goal to build the most quality-focused pizza chain in China."
