November 25, 2008

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Papa John's founder John Schnatter, his wife Annette and their company Evergreen Real Estate have been named the 2008 National Trails Corporate Award winners, during the American Trails 19th National Trails Symposium in Little Rock, Ark.

The Schnatters and Evergreen were honored for their efforts in trail creation and greenway improvements in the Louisville, Ky., area. Their efforts included $3 million in financial support for the Louisville regional trails efforts and the design and construction of the Anchorage Trail, a one-mile trail in Anchorage, Ky., that has now been expanded to a two-mile loop.

According to its Web site, American Trails presents the National Trails Awards every two years to recognize the contributions of volunteers, professionals and other leaders who are working to create a national system of trails in the United States. To be eligible for the Corporate Award, a business or corporation must have demonstrated significant, sustained and exemplary service to trails planning, implementation and/or recreation.
