Papa John's said more than a year after the launch of its Papadia, the menu item is proving so popular that the brand is launching a variation that puts a crispiness into the company's take on the classic Italian flatbread sandwich, traditionally known as the Piadina.
The brand has unveiled a Parmesan Crusted Papadia, with the salty, flaked cheese baked to a crispy crunch on Papa John's six-ingredient pizza dough. The original Papadia launched in February of last year and the company said in a news release that it is proving to be a real winner, with data indicating that once a customer orders the sandwich, there's a 70% chance they'll order it again.
A company spokesman told Pizza Marketplace that nationally the sandwich is priced at $7, though some locations price differently. The Parmesan variety is, at this point, a limited time offer, however, although she said the results of the LTO may dictate its future as a permanent menu item.
The Parmesan Crusted Papadia is available May 24 to all customers, but Papa Rewards members can try it as a preview offer now.
