Papa John's May comps up 5.2%

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—
Papa John's reported its domestic system-wide comparable-store sales for the four weeks ended May 21, 2006, increased 5.2 percent (composed of a 5.3 percent increase at company-owned stores and a 5.1 percent increase at franchise stores). According to a news release, total system-wide international sales for Papa John's branded units increased 24.6 percent for the period, on a constant U.S. dollar basis, compared to last year.
At the end of the period, there were 2,942 Papa John's restaurants (511 company-owned and 2,431 franchised) operating in 49 states and 23 countries.
