Papa John's opens its first south China pizzeria

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Papa John's International has opened its first south China location in Schenzhen.

"This is the forerunner to significant growth expected in the south China region for Papa John's," Bill Van Epps, chief operations officer, said in a news release. "Asian culture expects higher quality, and that is what they will get from us."

In addition to the Schenzhen unit, Papa John's has 15 units in Shanghai and five in Beijing.

Of Papa John's 3,000-plus units, 415 are international stores located in 19 countries.
