LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Papa John's International announced domestic system-wide comparable-store sales for the five weeks ended March 26, 2006, increased 4.5 percent (composed of a 5.7 percent increase at company-owned units and a 4.2 percent increase at franchise units).
According to a news release, domestic system-wide comps for the quarter ended March 26, 2006, increased 4.2 percent (composed of a 6.1 percent increase at company-owned units and a 3.7 percent increase at franchise units).
Since Easter weekend falls in April this year, the company said sales for the March and Q1 were favorably impacted. The calendar change should soften sales some, therefore, in April and Q2.
Total system-wide international comps increased 30.9 percent for March and 29.1 percent for the quarter, on a constant U.S. dollar basis, over the same periods last year.
