Papa John's releases vegan pizzas in South Korea

Papa John's has introduced vegan pizza offerings in South Korea for the first time in more than 220 stores, according to a Aju Business Daily report.

The pizza chain will release the Green Eat Vegetable Margarita and the Green Eat Vegetable Garden Special using coconut oil and starch. Both pizzas use plant-based cheese and contain no diary or gluten.

"Although the domestic market is still small compared to the overseas vegan market, the role of a premium pizza brand is to respond to preferences of each consumer," Jeon Joong-gu Papa John's Korea head, said in a statement.
