Papa John's announced the opening of its first restaurant in Bolivia. The new store will be located in Santa Cruz, according to a company press release.
Golden Brands Inc. has the exclusive development rights to Bolivia. Steve Nacif, the lead partner of Golden Brands, plans to open another restaurant in 2015 and eventually open more than 10 restaurants in Bolivia.
"The brand Papa John's continues to gain popularity and is growing steadily," said Tim O'Hern, senior vice president and chief development officer of Papa John's International Inc. "Our fresh, processed-by-hand dough, fresh-packed tomato sauce and our special cheese together give a better pizza. We now have nearly 4,800 restaurants in 40 countries and territories, and are proud to complement Bolivia as our newest country. Our high turnout at the opening confirm our opinion that people in Bolivia look forward to a better pizza."
The opening in Bolivia is part of Papa John’s strategy to expand in Latin America. Papa John's is currently looking for potential licensees for Brazil, Mexico and several markets in the Caribbean.
