Patxi’s Pizza names new culinary chief

Patxi’s Pizza has named a new chief culinary officer, as well as a new director of supply chain, to support the company’s growth.

Peter Serantoni joins the brand as chief culinary officer with a career that spans more than 20 years. Prior, he served as vice president of product ddvelopment and executive chef for Vicorp Inc., parent company of Bakers Square and Village Inn; and the chief culinary officer and senior vice president of food, beverage and purchasing for Chevys, Inc., where he was responsible for creating and launching Fuzio Universal Pasta, Chevys Express Mex and Border Bell. His work has been featured on both national and regional television shows and in several cookbooks, according to a news release.

Serantoni will join co-Founder and Executive Chef Patxi Azpiroz to further develop Patxi’s menus and bar offerings.

Additionally, Glenis Welzien has been named director of supply chain. Prior, he served as director of supply chain for André-Boudin Bakeries in the San Francisco area as well as director of purchasing for Chevys Inc. for more than 10 years. He also grew with the Marriott Corporation with a focus on its many restaurant groups, the release said.
