PBS places Panino's Pizzeria at the top of Illinois pizza

The listing of Illinois’ top pizza places came after PBS asked its fans to nominate favorite spots for the best pizza in Illinois.

PBS has named Panino’s Pizzeria as one of the top pizzerias in Illinois, according to a press release from the restaurant. The listing of Illinois’ top pizza places came after PBS asked fans to nominate their favorite spots for the best pizza in Illinois.

"We consider it an honor for fans of PBS to vote us as one of their top pizza restaurants," said owner Bruno Brunetti in a statement.

This isn't the pizzeria's first time in the spotlight. In 2012, TV station ABC 7 Chicago featured Panino’s Pizzeria as for its Neapolitan-style pizza in an broadcast that stated, "There are, of course, dozens of places to get a great pizza in Chicago, but the Hungry Hound (the station's restaurant blog) has been discovering a few authentic, Neapolitan pies lately."

Panino's Pizzerias, which now total four Chicagoland locations, are owned by Gino Rago and Leonardo Rago.
