People matter most, says Pizza Hut mega-franchisee Bicknell

Joplin Globe: Gene Bicknell, founder of NPC International, the world's largest Pizza Hut franchisee with 834 stores, said he got to the top by understanding early on that people are the most important asset of a company.

"You must have people to conduct a business. They are your most important asset. ... Once you get them, you've got to treat them with dignity and respect. You can't demand people to be loyal."
