Picazzo's takes advantage of low lease rates in Arizona

Despite news of eight Domino's locations closing in the Phoenix area, Sedona's Picazzo's Gourmet Pizza & Salads just opened its eighth Arizona restaurant in Surprise and is looking at opening additional locations in metro Phoenix, according to azcentral.com. Picazzo's sells gluten-free and traditional pizzas.

The company also has sit-down restaurants in Tempe, Goodyear, North Scottsdale and Paradise Valley in addition to Casa Grande, Sedona and Flagstaff. A Lake Havasu restaurant is expected to open later this year.Dennis Daniel, Picazzo's operations manager, said the company is expanding during the recession because of the availability of good locations at reasonable lease rates.
