Pie Five brings delivery in-house to amp up orders

Pie Five Pizza Co. is is adding in-house delivery to all U.S. locations, the chain announced today.

"We were thrilled to learn from our consumer research that our fans would order from Pie Five more often if we offered delivery and online ordering," Pie Five Pizza Co. Marketing Vice President Christina Coy, said in a company press release. "We took that research to heart and created additional channels for guests to get their Pie Five fix."

About 30 percent of Pie Five locations now offer the service, and the company plans to deliver from all locations by mid-year 2018. The delivery and online ordering format work well with Pie Five's Circle of Crust loyalty program, said Scott Crane, CEO of the chain's parent company, Rave Restaurant Group.

"The consumer research was essential in helping us enhance and elevate the guest experience at Pie Five," he said in the release. "The research showed that our loyal guests are actually looking for additional occasions to enjoy our made-from-scratch pizzas, new menu options and desserts. Delivery adds a world of new possibilities to the mix."

Crane and his team used the research to create a new prototype that they introduced last month in Plano, Texas. The next-generation design includes a revamped interior, logo and menu and also offers wine by the bottle and glass, as well as craft beer on tap, Crane said.
