On Oct. 10, Wichita, Kansas, will welcome its second Pie Five restaurant at 2755 Maize Rd, Suite 109, in New Market Square. It's the fourth location in Kansas and the chain's 26th restaurant nationwide, according to a news release.
To mark the opening, franchisee Jim Stevens will host a fundraiser for Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, which is run by the Catholic Charities Inc. – Diocese of Wichita. Stevens and his team raised 2,150 for the charity in August during the opening of the city's first Pie Five at 334 S. Ridge Road, and they hope to top that amount by donating 50 percent of proceeds from private training events taking place this week, the release said.
With the opening of his second restaurant, Stevens also announced the launch of "Miracle Mondays," in which 5 percent of proceeds from every Monday's sales will be donated to the food pantry.
On Oct. 17, from 5-7 p.m., the new restaurant will throw its official grand opening party featuring merchandise and food giveaways and a check presentation to Our Daily Bread.
