Pie Five marks its debut in Missouri

Pie Five Pizza will open its first location in Missouri on Friday, at 534 Westport Rd., one mile east of the Kansas-Missouri line in the Westport Landing Shopping Center.

A grand opening celebration will begin at 10 a.m. that day and will include a check presentation to Children's Mercy Hospital, with funds raised from in-store training events taking place this week.

The new location is owned by Kevin and Kerry Goebel, who have two other Pie Five units in the Kansas City market.

Starting Nov. 10, the Westport Pie Five will join the other Kansas City Pie Five restaurants in the "Mercy Mondays" campaign, in which 5 percent of all sales every Monday are donated to the pediatric health center.

"For years, Children's Mercy Hospital has been dedicated to redefining pediatric medicine, and its mission is made possible through funding by donors throughout the community," Kerry Goebel said in a news release. "Pie Five is dedicated to supporting that mission and we are happy to be an ongoing advocate for CMH through Mercy Mondays and our latest grand opening."
