Pie Five opening new Tennessee, Florida locations

Pie Five Pizza Co. will open a new location in Daytona Beach, Florida, and another new location in Franklin, Tennessee, on Friday.

The Daytona Beach location is the second for the company in Florida and is located near the Daytona International Speedway at 1388 W. International Speedway Blvd. The grand opening celebration will also include a ribbon cutting by the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce and a check presentation to Project Warm, a program funded by the Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation, at 4 p.m. Friday.

Franchise operator Gale Lemerand and his team will donate half of their sales from pre-opening training events held this week to the nonprofit organization, which delivers behavioral healthcare to individuals and families in the local community, according to a news release. There will also be a local radio station on site and food and merchandise giveaways.

"We're happy to support the Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation and everything it does for families in and around Daytona Beach. It's a truly extraordinary organization," Lemerand said in the release. "It's also an exciting time for everybody at Pie Five because we're about to change the way people here experience pizza."

Additionally, Pie Five will open in Franklin, Tennessee, on Friday at 401-B Cool Springs Blvd. Doors will open at 11 a.m., marking Tennessee's second Pie Five location

The company recently awarded 10 franchise units to local businessmen Rich Davis and Ron Payne. The first of these locations opened in July at The Crossings retail strip in Donelson, five miles south of the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center.

Davis said the first unit has been a "big hit."

The Franklin restaurant will hold a daylong grand opening celebration the following Friday, Sept. 26. Nashville's 107.5 FM The River will be onsite, and food and merchandise giveaways will be held from 6-8 p.m.
