Pie Five Pizza Co. is set to open a location in Frederick, Md. on Aug.29 according to a company announcement.

The location is the first in Maryland and part of a 38-unit franchise deal with ALC Hospitality, a restaurant management company that will open Pie Five stores in Maryland, Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The ribbon-cutting grand opening will take place at 10:30 a.m. September 5 at the restaurant's 200 Shorebird St. location. As part of the celebration, WFRE 99.9 FM will give away merchandise and a check will be presented to the Frederick County Food Bank on behalf of Pie Five.
