Pie Five Pizza to open newest location in Kansas City area

Pie Five Pizza Co. will open its newest location Friday in Kansas City, Kansas.

Pie Five Pizza Co. announced it will open its newest location at 11 a.m. Friday in Olathe, Kansas, at 15404 W 119th St. near Strang Line Road.

"Northridge will be the eighth location we've opened in the community, and the response has been astounding!" said Dave Goebel, Pie Five Pizza franchise partner. "This is a family business, and we love being able to give back and serve our neighbors and their families."

Throughout the year, Kansas City Pie Five restaurants have given five percent of their totals sales every Monday to Children's Mercy Hospitals, thus far donating almost $80,000, according to a company press release.

At the opening-day ceremony, Pie Five will present Children's Mercy Hospital with a check for 100 percent of the proceeds earned during pre-opening events for its latest store. Pie Five will also be sharing an offer for free pizza for a year and tickets to the Kansas University-University of Kentucky basketball game. Mix 93 will also be on-site for the opening day ceremony with prizes to giveaway.

Goebel, former president and chief executive officer of Applebee's, along with sons Kerry and Kevin and daughter Lyssa, signed a Pie Five franchise agreement in 2013. The Goebels have plans to open additional locations in the Kansas City area, Topeka, Lawrence, Manhattan and St. Joe as part of their 18 to 20 restaurant territory, the release stated.
