Pieology Pizzeria donated more than 21,000 chicken crust pizzas to Sante Fe, New Mexico-based food bank, a news release said. The pizzas have 44 grams of protein and are valued at over $48,000.
"This year it is especially important for us to give because so many families are in need due to COVID," Pieology CMO Adrienne Berkes said in the release.
"In this time of economic uncertainty, global pandemic and high unemployment, raising awareness and funds to help solve hunger in our communities is urgent. This is just our way of helping out."
Pieology — based in Tustin, California — has more than 130 units nationally.
