Pizza battle heating up in Cyprus

FinancialMirror.com: When Mama's Pizza opens on Cyprus on Jan. 4, it will find itself in the thick of an aggressive turf war between international and domestic pizza chains operating there.

"Any competition is welcome, but they must not forget that the secret lies in a good product combined with good management," said Costas Kouroufexis, cofounder of Quo Vadis Pizza. "When Pizza Hut started in Cyprus, we had three outlets and we were told to brace for closure. We have since expanded to 12 outlets."
