Pizza Cat will open its second location in the Greektown neighborhood of Detroit, according to a report in The Detroit Free Press.
The pizzeria offers unusual toppings like pickles and brisket, and also caters to diners with alternative diets like keto and gluten free.
"We keep pizza weird," co-owner Andre Robinson told the news outlet.
Robinson and his partner, Matt Wojtowicz, have mapped out three separate units for their franchise: a carryout version; an express for non-traditional spaces like airports and office buildings and the full-service Pizza Cat Max. The Greektown unit will be a Pizza Cat Max, according to the news report.
"The other thing that sets us apart is we cook our pizza in pie pans," Robinson said. "Literally we fry the bread in the oven and it's edge-to-edge pizza. Most people have a half-inch crust. We don't waste time with wasting bread like that, we use the entire surface of this pizza or pie for edge-to-edge cheese."
No date was given for the opening.
