CHENNAI, India -- Officials at Pizza Corner India said the company is holding its own against competition from international pizza chains like Pizza Hut and Domino's.
According to a report in The Hindu Business Line, the 22-store chain experienced 20 percent growth over last year.
"We expect to break even on operations this fiscal, ending March 2004," said. CEO Anoop Sequeira. "This is owing to a combination of consolidating operations at existing outlets over the past one-and-a-half years, implementing better cost efficiencies, and higher sales at outlets."
The company declined to divulge exact sales figures. More than half -- 55 percent -- of the company's sales are dine-in. Deliveries account for the remaining 45 percent, according to the newspaper.
