June 8, 2009
CHICAGO -- The Pizza Executive Summit wrapped up its first day with a cocktail party and dinner for more than 60 operators, vendors and industry experts who came together at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago. The theme of the summit is "Evolution of the Modern Pizza Business."
Monday's sessions included a keynote address by Janelle Barlow, an author and expert in the area of getting and keeping customers through branded service.
"How do you prevent yourself from being seen as just another pizza place?" Barlow said in her address.
"In this time of economic challenge you don't want to get caught swimming naked," she said. "What you want to be careful about is that you are ready to take advantage of the changes that are occurring."
Online media company NetWorld Alliance is the organizer of the Pizza Executive Summit. NetWorld Alliance is the publisher of PizzaMarketplace.com.
