Sacramento, California-based Pizza Guys is expanding its San Francisco Bay Area presence by opening its 19th store there on University Avenue in Berkeley, a news release said. The store, owned by Ali Vahdat, will open in early March and is the first of two he'll add in the next few years.
"Pizza Guys' model helped it thrive throughout the pandemic," Vahdat said in the release. "With the delivery and takeout pizza industry continuing to face demand, Pizza Guys is the perfect brand to bring to the Berkeley area."
Throughout the pandemic, Pizza Guys' said the demand for delivery and takeout pizza led to tremendous brand growth and the hiring of more than 300 employees.
"Pizza Guys has continued to prove its resiliency throughout the pandemic," Pizza Guys founder and CEO Shahpour Nejad said in the release. "Experienced franchise partners like Ali who share our passion for providing our communities with high quality pizzas are what help us continue to expand and serve new customers. We look forward to the positive impact Ali's new location will have on the Berkeley community and can't wait for him to open his doors."
The 35-year-old brand now has 70 stores operating in three states.
