Pizza Guys puts 'a little bacon' on nation's angst

Sacramento-based Pizza Guys knows a nation that needs comfort and they're hoping that magic elixir, bacon, can do it, through their new LTOs built around the smoky strips of meat. Pizza Guys' bacon campaign includes bacon chicken supreme, Texas bbq, serrano chili, chipotle chicken pizzas, bacon bread and chicken bacon salad, among other items, a news release said.

The offerings are available through the end of the year and are headlined by the brand's newest menu item, the Cheezee bacon roll, with white garlic sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese and applewood-smoked bacon.

"As the holidays draw closer, people look towards food to provide comfort," Pizza Guys CEO Shahpour Nejad, said in the release. "Bacon is a widely loved comfort food, and by launching a campaign focused on this item, it gave us the opportunity to introduce our customers to a new and exciting menu item: the Cheezee Bacon Roll."

The brand is also featuring spinach tomato, chicken bacon ranch and spinach pineapple salads, as well as fiery pepperoni and rosemary potato flatbreads and Penne Pollo Rustico Pasta. The 34-year-old brand has 70 stores in three states and is based in Rancho Cordova, California.
