Pizza Hut adds plant-based crumbles to Canadian menu

Pizza Hut has added plant-based sausage to its permanent menu in its 450 Canadian stores, according to a CNBC report.

Pizza Hut tested the pea protein plant-based Beyond Italian Sausage Crumbles by Beyond Meats in Edmonton and Toronto last summer. Pizza Hut tested plant-based pepperoni in five U.S. cities last summer but has not rolled out the topping nationwide yet.

Plant-based crumbles can be added as a topping to any pizza in its Canadian stores, and the crumbles will be featured on a flatbread and in an alfredo dish.
