Pizza Hut blanket lets users 'make themselves a pizza'

Next time you say you're going to "make yourself a pizza," really do it. Pizza Hut this season has made that possibility more of a reality with its new pizza-adorned weighted blanket that wraps up blanketed bodies in a pepperoni topped pie.

Weighted blankets are used by many who swear they promote a more peaceful night's sleep, which is probably particularly true in these weighty times. The Original Pan Weighted Blanket captures the look of the 40-year-old Pizza Hut Original Pan pizza and wraps customers up in it, according to a news release.

Pizza Hut worked with Gravity Blanket on the limited-edition offering that packs 15-pounds of blanket inside a 72-inch-wide micro-fleece duvet cover that the release said uses deep- touch pressure stimulation to lower anxiety and improve sleep.

"There's no better way to close out 2020 than eating a Pizza Hut Original Pan Pizza while wrapped in the warmth and comfort of the Original Pan Weighted Blanket," Pizza Hut CMO George Felix said in the release. "This partnership with Gravity Blanket was the perfect solution to bring one of our legendary pizzas to life while bringing our fans a little TLC at the same time."

The $150 blankets are, according to Pizza Hut, priced 25% lower than comparable full-priced weighted blanket from Gravity.

Pizza Hut is based in Plano, Texas and has nearly 18,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries.
