Pizza Hut sales continue falling in NZ and Australia

AUCKLAND, New Zealand—Same-store sales continue to slide at 156 Pizza Hut units operated by Restaurant Brands throughout New Zealand and Australia.

According to a news release, to combat falling profits, the franchisor is running a new online marketing campaign for its 106 New Zealand stores, and is continuing to sell off its 50 stores in the Australian state of Victoria to independent operators.

For the 12 weeks ended May 22, sales fell at New Zealand Pizza Hut stores by 10.6 percent, while sales at its Australia units declined 2.7 percent.
