Pizza Hut tempting value customers with 'double it' box

Pizza Hut is hoping to entice customers with large families and appetites with the Double It Box, a pair of medium-sized, one-topping pizzas in a single box for $12.99, a news release said.

The box is available nationally equates to less than $1 per slice.

"We get it, the whole family is home now more than usual, trying to navigate the new normal. Even when you decide that it's pizza night, the negotiations on toppings can be fierce," CMO George Felix, said in the release. "With the new Double It Box, there's no compromise needed — a pizza for the kids and a pizza for the parents so everyone at the table has the power to choose the topping they want for less than a dollar a slice."

The box is available for delivery, carryout or curbside pickup, via ordering on the brand's app or website. Since March, Pizza Hut has served nearly 20 million contactless digital orders and welcomed several million new customers to the Hut Rewards loyalty program.
