LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Comparable-store sales at Pizza Hut's U.S. corporate units jumped 10 percent for the four weeks ended May 15.
According to a news release from its parent company, Yum! Brands, sales in the same period last year dropped 4 percent.
In related news, Yum announced it will not exercise its option to build out 500 cobrand units with Back Yard Burgers, a 138-unit Memphis-based chain. Nine cobrand units, some of which include the Pizza Hut brand, currently are in operation. However, Yum did not say whether those stores will remain open.
