Pizza Hut's U.S. sales slide 5% in third quarter

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Yum! Brands, parent of
Pizza Hut, reported same-store sales for the Dallas-based chain's 1,800 domestic corporate units declined 5 percent for the third quarter ended Sept. 9, 2006.
According to a news release, Pizza Hut comps dropped 3 percent in the same period last year.
For the four weeks ended Sept. 9, domestic comps dropped 2 percent.
