Pizza industry could have an ally in potential U.S. Rep

December 2, 2009

In a year where menu labeling, minimum wage and revised unionization laws are being considered in Congress, one major, Louisville-based Pizza Hut franchisee is stepping forth to be a voice for the industry. Jeffrey T. Reetz, who owns 32 Pizza Hut restaurants in four states, announced plans to run for U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth's 3rd District seat, according to the Courier-Journal.com.

From The Courier-Journal:
Reetz, 57, is the owner of 2JR Pizza Enterprises LLC. He has never previously run for office but said he now is in a position to allow others to operate his businesses on a day-to-day basis while he focuses on his campaign and, if elected, serves in Washington.

'I have a very strong small business point of view,' he said. 'Unlike a lot of other folks out there, I've actually had to make a payroll, I've got about 700 folks in my company today.'
