&pizza has joined with food service and facilities management company, Sodexo, and the Chief Administrative Officer of the House (CAO) to open a location of the homegrown D.C. pie purveyor at the U.S. House of Representatives in the nation's capital. Sodexo is the food service provider for the U.S. House and sub-contracted &pizza to bring its culinary innovation, unique retail design and employee culture to the famed Rayburn House Office Building, a news release said.
&pizza will be open in the location weekdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. via a 500-square-foot restaurant space and the labors of 18 of the brand's so-called "Tribe" members. To open the location, those involved hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and plenty of other top brass from the House, Sodexo, &pizza and others.
"The House community is always on call and works long hours in demanding jobs and having convenient high-quality food that they enjoy is very important," Chief Administrative Officer Philip G. Kiko said in the release. "We welcome &pizza to the popular brands we are opening at the U.S. House."
The location is the 33rd store for &pizza and also will receive orders via the brand's online and rewards app order-ahead feature
"Public service is in &pizza's DNA, so we're naturally driven to do right by our communities. &pizza got its start in D.C., so this community has been our support system since day one," &pizza Chief People Offiiicer Andy Hooper said in the release. "We've always wanted to have a presence in the center of the action on Capitol Hill, so we're thrilled to open our doors in the Rayburn Building for U.S. representatives, visitors and diplomats from around the world to experience and enjoy &pizza."
