LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Pizza Magia has reached an agreement to develop its carryout-delivery chain in India.
According to a news release, the company's goal is to have five stores operating in New Delhi by the end of March 2005.
"My team and I went to India in July to study the culture, the competition and feasibility of successfully entering the Indian market," said Pizza Magia CEO Dan Holland. "All of our research has indicated that India is indeed a very strong market with a growing demand for delivered pizza."
Over the next five years, the chain would like to have 100 units there — nearly triple its current U.S. unit count of 35.
Pizza Magia is currently exploring at least two other international opportunities.
"The world has become a smaller place," said Holland. "We must be prepared to compete internationally in order to achieve our long term goals."
