Pizza Magia intros Cherry Sweetie Pie with 99 cent Valentine's promo

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thirty-five store Pizza Magia announced it will add a new dessert offering to its menu with a Valentine's Day promotion.

Following the chain's original dessert entry, the Sweetie Pie, sales of its new Cherry Sweetie Pie will begin on Feb. 11. For a limited time, customers who purchase any pizza can buy either Sweetie Pie for an additional 99 cents.

In a news release, Pizza Magia CEO Dan Holland alluded to Papa John's recent addition of its own dessert pie, Papa's Cinnapie, as proof his company was on to something good when it created the Sweetie Pie three years ago.

"(W)e had no idea it would become so popular with consumers and so imitated by competitors," Holland said in the release. "We are confident that those who have tasted and loved the original Sweetie Pie will truly appreciate this line extension."

The Cherry Sweetie Pie is fresh-baked on pizza dough, topped with a streusel and cherry-cheese blend and drizzled with vanilla icing.

The new item will be offered in the Louisville market and select franchise markets.
