Canada-based Pizza Nova and its partners teed off for a good cause on June 11th, surpassing their fundraising goal at their annual summer charity golf event. Held at Station Creek Golf Club in Gormley, Ontario, the tournament raised $56,887 in support of Villa Charities, according to a press release.
"We hoped to raise some dough, both in the kitchen and on the greens, and we drove it way over the goal," Domenic Primucci, president of Pizza Nova, said in the press release. "We could not be more grateful to our partners for their continued generosity and to Villa Charities for their critical work in the community."
More than 215 participants, including franchisees, suppliers, partners, family and friends, enjoyed a day of golf while contributing to a worthy cause. The funds raised will directly benefit the Villa Colombo Toronto long-term care home, which provides care for over 391 residents.
Pizza Nova's longstanding partnership with Villa Charities spans 26 years, with the company raising over $765,000 for the organization during that time.
"These funds help us to enrich the lives of elderly Italo-Canadian citizens in our long-term care homes," Marco DeVuono, president and CEO of Villa Charities Inc., added in the press release. "The dedication we've seen from Pizza Nova and its partners over the years has been nothing short of inspirational and a true blessing to the people we help. Grazie mille!"
Pizza Nova has more than 150 stores and concession locations in Southern Ontario.
