Pizza Nova stops using plastic bags at Ontario locations

June 8, 2009

TORONTO -- Pizza Nova has voluntarily discontinued the use of all plastic bags from their restaurant locations across Ontario in tandem with theintroduction of the City of Toronto's new bylaw that requires all merchants, including restaurateurs, to charge a minimum of five cents for each plastic retail shopping bag.

"As supporters of several environmental initiatives, we feel that discontinuing the use of plastic bags at all of our locations across the province is an action that serves to benefit our community," said Domenic Primucci, executive vice president of the family-owned business.

Pizza Nova will continue to provide their customers with free bags to carry their product that meet the environmental requirements of the new bylaw.
