Pizza Patron cracks Los Angeles market, plans for 20 units

DALLAS — Pizza Patrón opened its first California location near Los Angeles.

According to a news release, the Latin-market-centered company aims to have 20 restaurants in the area 2008.

"Pizza Patrón has very successfully reached out to the Hispanic community in other parts of the country and we are certain that the restaurants will receive a warm reception from the Hispanic community here," said Carlos Covarrubius, director of operations for Mas Pizza LLC, Pizza Patron's Los Angeles-area developer. "We already have seven L.A. locations under construction."

Pizza Patron operates about 50 U.S. units.
