Pizza Patron signs development agreement for 4 Colorado units

April 25, 2004

DENVER—Pizza Patron, based in Dallas, has signed a development agreement with Mimbres Group, Inc. to open four units in Colorado.

According to a news release, the northerly move is Pizza Patron's first outside the Southwest (see Latino pizza chain savors national pie).

"Denver has a significant Hispanic population," said Antonio Swad, Pizza Patron founder and CEO. "It's a highly visible and extremely important market for us to develop, and we're happy to have Mimbres Group on board to develop the brand here."

Mimbres Group CEO Randy Schmidt wants the first unit open by mid-August. The first site is planned tentatively for Aurora, a suburb of Denver.
