Pizza Patrón's plan to drive traffic includes $3.99 large pizza offer

Pizza Patrón is taking the deep discounting environment to a new level with its latest promotion – running through Oct. 1 – in which customers can purchase a large pepperoni pizza for $3.99 every Monday through Wednesday.

The company said the promotion was created to grab attention and drive new traffic during the typically slow summer months. The company also announced that it is proving to be the most successful promotion for the brand this year. Comp sales are up 18 percent per store per week during the first four weeks of the campaign, according to a news release.

"We are extremely happy with this campaign as it has driven excellent traffic during a time of year that is typically slow in our business," Brand Director Andy Gamm said in the release. "We believe this is the strongest offer of the year in the pizza industry and customers still have a few weeks to take advantage of it."

He added that the offer is not only generating new traffic, but also not cannibalizing existing business on non-promotion days.

The offer is good only on carry out pizzas, with no limit on purchases.
