Pizza Pizza completes Pizza 73 acquisition

TORONTO — Pizza Pizza Royalty Income Fund and Pizza Pizza Limited have completed the previously-announced acquisition of Flying Pizza 73 Inc.
The Pizza Pizza Royalty Income Fund is a limited purpose, open-ended trust established under the laws of Ontario to indirectly acquire trademarks and trade names used byPizza Pizza in its Pizza Pizza and Pizza 73 branded restaurants.
The fund has acquired the trademarks and other intellectual property associated with Pizza 73 restaurant operations as part of the transaction.
The acquisition of Edmonton, Alberta-based Pizza 73 allows Pizza Pizza to expand into Western Canada and specifically the Alberta market, the company announced in a news release. Pizza Pizza operates 532 restaurants, predominantly in Ontario and Quebec.
