Pizza Pizza kicks off Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser

October 2, 2014

Toronto-based Pizza Pizza is hosting its Slices for Smiles campaign throughout October, raising money for the Children's Miracle Network. The company’s goal this year is to raise more than $350,000 for the 14 Children's Miracle Network member hospitals across Canada.

All traditional Pizza Pizza restaurant locations across Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia will participate in the campaign, which started in 2007 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the company.

"Giving a donation to Slices for Smiles is a very small way to make a big difference in the life of a child," CMO Pat Finelli said in a news release. "With the help of our customers, passionate franchisees and their employees, we hope to deliver many more smiles as a result of this year's campaign."

Customers can support the campaign by picking up a medium cheese or pepperoni pizza. Customers can also get involved by purchasing a $1 smile icon in store, or by adding a donation to orders placed by phone, online and through the Pizza Pizza Smartphone app. Last year, Slices for Smiles raised $300,000, for a total of more than $1.3 million since the campaign's inception.

Additionally, on Oct. 21, Pizza Pizza will host the Smiles for Miracles Day. Customers will be able to purchase special pepperoni smile half pizzas for $2 at any traditional Pizza Pizza location in Canada, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Children's Miracle Network.
