Pizza project to feed NY homeless

June 17, 2007

NEW YORK — Nonprofit multicultural arts company eyeBLINK is donating 75 large pizzas per day to different New York City homeless shelters from June 18-22.

Pizza Hut will participate in the initiative by donating a free pizza for every one purchased by eyeBLINK.

The project has been spearheaded by eyeBLINK's business manager, Obaid Kadwani. Obaid is a celebrity known across South Asia for hosting TV shows and for appearing in commercials.

"Many don't realize that these shelters don't just feed the homeless, they also feed senior citizens, children and the working poor," Obaid said. "We hope to shine a little light, to bring a little brightness, a little smile, on these people's faces."
