PizzaForno opening on NASA campus

Provided

April 12, 2023

The automated pizzeria brand, PizzaForno, has opened on the campus of NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, according to a company press release.

Located next to the mission control building, it will feed employees, researchers, engineers and astronauts, who previously had to pack a lunch, order from a food truck or leave campus for a meal when the cafeteria closed down, according to the release.

Baking all its pizzas in under three minutes, the machines operate 24 hours a day and can hold up to 70 pre-boxed pizzas. Once ordered from the LED screen or pre-ordered via the PizzaForno app, the pizza is transferred from the cold section to the proprietary convection oven via a robot to dish out a handcrafted pizza.

PizzaForno has over 50 locations and over 100 additional committed in the U.S., with the first 15 U.S. locations established in Michigan, Texas and Louisiana.
