Pupatella has opened its sixth unit, located in Fairfax, Virginia. The restaurant is situated in the retail and entertainment district of Mosaic, according to a press release.

This latest opening is the first in a string of developments for the brand, which includes another opening in West Springfield, Virginia, later this month. A new lease has also bee signed in Chantilly, Virginia.

"We're thrilled to introduce the Mosaic neighborhood to something we're so passionate about here at Pupatella, which is serving food and an experience that is as authentic as what you'll find in Naples," Michael Berger, Pupatella's chief operating officer and partner, said in the release. "On top of the many ingredients we bring in from Italy weekly, we also got our hands on a classic 1972 FIAT 500. This car in particular is really special to us as it was on display outside of a pizzeria in Naples for many years before being brought over to the U.S. It's the perfect classic car to pair with our pizza at such a flagship location in Mosaic."

In addition to the upcoming West Springfield opening and Chantilly lease, future growth plans include pizzerias in Leesburg and another D.C. location in Capitol Hill.

Pupatella was founded in 2007 by Enzo and Anastasiya Algarme as a food truck. There are currently six brick-and-mortar locations.
